I am a co-regulating manual therapist who mobilizes your nervous system, assists your body in re-developing your stress and trauma response with "tissue issue" relief strategies, and I teach you how to help yourself so you can gradually self-regulate. I've been developing my practice as an RMT since 2009, and love the direction my career has taken me so far!
My ultimate goal is to teach your body clear communication within your systems, so your neuroception (internal body awareness) can relay feelings of safety, comfort and ease. Together, we are creating a stress and pain response troubleshooting kit, to re-establish your innate healing ability. By fostering your adeptness to navigate Autonomic and Sympathetic Nervous System (ANS & SNS) distress management, you will learn to rule the world (well, your body world!). In simpler terms, I'm helping you decode the physical symptoms, while alleviating pain and exploring which "tissues have issues". From there, I coach you on your best movement and rehabilitation options, and connect you with some other amazing practitioners to keep on truckin'.
I welcome everyone to my practice, and I approach care from a deep respect for humanity and vulnerability. I completely understand how challenging it can be to develop a trusting bond that can promote healing and I respect to everyone who shows up for themselves. I work on myself just as much as I work on others, and I always try my best.
From very gentle techniques to deeper work, I tailor my approach to ensure that you're always relaxed, in control of your comfort and feeling the benefits on my table, and ideally as long as possible once you leave the session.
In addition to being a beach bum, I co-own two thriving wellness clinics in Toronto (www.originwellness.ca), and operate a wellness coaching business geared towards anyone who takes care of others for living. I love teaching people how to balance a thriving and ethical business, with a healthy and fulfilling personal life.
I'm also an RMT techniques educator, and I'm in the process of developing continuing education courses for manual therapists. My education comes from 15 years in practice, but also 25 years of personal growth through various therapies, life adventures, failures and come-backs.
As a professional musician, I spend my time between two careers, and feel as if I'm living a dream life. I'm fortunate to travel extensively and spend as much time in the reflecting on my own path and goals as I explore new environments.
Natasha grew up in Barrie and has almost a decade of massage therapy experience working in both private practice and as part of a clinical team.
She has a psychology degree from Laurentian University but completed most of her undergrad in Ottawa. She is a strong believer in tailoring each treatment to fit the specific needs and wants of each client. Natasha believes by addressing individual client needs in a holistic way you can help reduce stress and increase client comfort in order to maintain a healthy mind, body and soul.
She has a special interest in women’s health and seeing how massage therapy can help decrease symptoms related to burn out, ADHD, chronic pain, postpartum mood disorders, ptsd, anxiety, etc. She believes our bodies tell the story of our lives and that healing encompasses the physical, mental and spiritual bodies.
Natasha has extra training in infant massage including tongue ties and she really enjoy showing parents extra ways they can bond with or soothe their baby at home.
In her spare time she is the busy mom of three little ones. Natasha enjoys practicing yoga, listening to podcasts, learning human design, decorating spaces and believes a good morning routine brings happiness throughout the day. She also really loves plants, gardening, watching football with her husband and chasing sunsets.
My name is Stacey Lapham and I’m an explorer. I was born with a highly curious nature and inner worlds are my favourite area of discovery. My therapy sessions are driven by a curiosity to learn more about our emotions and how they impact our functioning, relationships, and overall wellbeing.
Red Cardinal Counselling provides support for issues like low mood, anxiety, overwhelming stress, and relationship challenges, among other concerns.
In addition to general therapy services, Red Cardinal Counselling specializes in the treatment of trauma, as well as in work with teens and parents.
Therapy sessions often follow an eclectic approach, where techniques and theory from a variety of therapy models are weaved together. The following are some of my favourite models of therapy to draw from:
Working with teens is Red Cardinal Counselling’s sweet spot!
This phase of constant exploration and intense emotions is fertile ground, where small seeds of confidence, compassion, and courage can grow and bear fruit long into adulthood if given the chance.
With social media and instant access technologies, teens today are navigating in uncharted territory and - to be frank - the waters are not always friendly. This, in conjunction with the impact of pandemic restrictions, has amplified issues like depression, anxiety, substance and alcohol misuse, bullying, and relationship strain between teens and parents.
Parents are also finding themselves in over their heads. Our role is to pass on the lessons we have learned, but the game has changed so much since our own teen years that we can struggle to know what to do ourselves.
